About Our Chapter

  • Today, there are approximately 151 Alpha Phi chapters throughout the United States and Canada, with over 200,000 members. Our chapter at the University of Texas is called the Omega Chapter of Alpha Phi. It was founded November 7, 1920 and celebrated its 90th anniversery in 2010. Alpha Phi has a total Active and New Members of about 200 women.

Every Fall, Texas- Omega is more than excited to welcome a new member class of around 60 girls to participate in the Alpha Phi experience at UT. Beginning with a variety of new member activities to get the girls well acquainted with one another and the chapter, Alpha Phis begin to become part of something that is more than just a sorority. Over the next four years these girls will have the chance to participate in philanthropic events like Red Dress Gala and Hits 4 Hearts Softball Tournament, which raise thousands of dollars for charity. They will have the ability to expand their leadership and take on Chapter Council positions or participate in leadership events like Order of Omega. At Alpha Phi they will have the time of their lives experiencing unique social events such as Destination Unknown and Alpha Phi Crush.

The Omega Chapter of Alpha Phi is a home to both UT students that live in the house as well as those that live out. You can always find girls sitting in the dinning room for meals made by our very own chef or getting together with study groups for study hours. The TV room is never empty, girls lounge on our big comfy couches for new episodes of "Gossip Girl" and "The Bachelor" or to watch a movie.

And after the four wonderful years as an Alpha Phi at the University of Texas are over, the experience doesn't end. Alpha Phi has great alumni relations. Many alumni stay as involved as possible from becoming an advisor to just stopping by to say "Hi" every now and then. They are more than eager to help young Phi's find jobs and internships across the nation. We stay true to our Alpha Phi quote, “Alpha Phi is a sisterhood of outstanding women supporting one another in lifelong achievement.”
